  • Research Interests

  • Understand ocean processes through observational data analyses, numerical modeling and applications of basic geophysical fluid dynamical principles. I am interested in small-scale process studies of fronts and mixing, storm-induced motions, boundary currents such as the Kuroshio and the Gulf Stream, marginal sea dynamics such as processes in the China Seas and the Gulf of Mexico, the interaction between boundary currents and marginal seas, and large-scale climate phenomena such as ENSO, EM, PDO, and more recently our own PTO (Philippines-Taiwan Oscillation)
